In case you are not aware, KHS yearbooks were distributed today. Here is a glimpse.
Board’s Vote on Superintendent’s Contract
In case you are not aware, the Board of Education voted in January 2023 whether or not to extend the KSD contract for Superintendent David Ulrich. The vote passed 4-3. The leader of our District does not have a vote of confidence from the entire School Board. Pay attention.

KSD’s Ineffective Equity Efforts
In case you are not aware, KSD’s equity efforts that claim to help Black students succeed have been ongoing for years but do not appear to be impactful. Where is KSD’s accountability in this?
KSD’s Downward Academic Trends
In case you are not aware, KSD’s academic performance is not trending in a good direction. See the graph for an example of downward trends in Math and English. The district has dismissed repeated calls for KSD to focus on ACADEMICS rather than the many other “distractions” it now states as its priorities.

In case you are not aware, the reporter on the KSDK News ‘5 On Your Side’ story "ACLU calls Missouri Republicans move to defund libraries 'abhorrent'" dated April 12, 2023 may have forgotten to do his due diligence when it comes to KSD!
SORA’s Sexualized Search Engine Optimization
In case you are not aware, when KSD students (elementary and up) search “puppies” on the school provided SORA app, the FIRST book that pops up is “Pride Puppy,” not cute picture books of puppies that a child might be expecting.
KSD Leader Claims Reality about Families is a False Narrative
In case you are not aware, here is another example of a KSD leader working to control the narrative rather than productively address the real concerns of the community.
KSD Leader “Changing the Message”
In case you are not aware, KSD leaders repeatedly show that they are more interested in controlling the narrative than productively addressing concerns from the community. Here is one example of a Board member emailing the Chief Communications Officer and asking her to “change the message” rather than actually working to ensure that KSD follows policies.
